Why switch to an electric car?
There are many reasons to choose the Kia Electric and Hybrid Range. The 7 year warranty, the huge choice of vehicles and engines, and our electric vehicle heritage. But you might find the main one is, they’re great to drive.
The future is already here and electric cars are now mainstream. Infact, most manufacturers aim to electrify their entire range within the next 5 years. By reducing emissions, you are helping the planet heal from all the carbon emissions associated with petrol and diesel engines. Electric vehicles are cheaper to run whilst also being road tax exempt, on average an all-electric vehicle will cost around 4p per mile, that means it will roughly cost you around £4 to travel 100 miles! A battery electric vehicle is better for the environment than a petrol or diesel car, cheaper to run, and simple to own.
Hybrid cars can offer you improved fuel economy and lower emissions, without the need to change how you use your vehicle. No plugging in required.
Plug-in hybrid cars can offer you many of the benefits of an electric car, they have a shorter electric range but can rely on a petrol motor for longer trips.
Mild Hybrids allow your engine to switch off more frequently, which improves fuel economy and reduces emissions.
Don‘t worry, charging may seem like a whole new world, but in reality it‘s very simple. Charging an electric car is a simple process: you simply plug your car into a charger that is connected to the electric grid. EV chargers typically fall under one of three main categories: Level 1 charging stations, Level 2 charging stations, and DC Fast Chargers (also referred to as Level 3 charging stations).
Owning an electric car is cheaper than you might think. With the average UK electricity price sitting at around 14p per kWh and if you assume an electric car will travel 3.5 miles per kWh on average, to travel 100 miles would cost around £4 or 4p per mile.
